Performance of Water for Elephants (Thursday, September 12, 7:00 p.m.) with optional dinner at Sardi’s beforehand

Animals! Acrobats! Aerialists! And . . . a Love Triangle!

Join the Bryn Mawr Club of New York City as we kick off the fall theater season with an outing to Water for Elephants, the hit Broadway musical that garnered seven Tony nominations and was chosen as a New York Times critic’s pick. Frank Rizzo of Variety called the production “spellbinding,” adding that it “could be the greatest show on Broadway.” Jesse Green of the New York Times called it a “huge and heart-filling musical,” adding, “The director Jessica Stone’s stunning, emotional production . . . leads with movement, eye candy, and awe.”

Based on the bestselling book of the same name by Sara Gruen, the play brings the experience of circus animals, their handlers, and performers to life against the darkness of the Depression, creating a dazzling show.

Attendees are welcome to join the group at 5:00 p.m. for dinner at nearby Sardi’s restaurant (reservation with organizer required).
