Meet Kelly Duggan ’13

July 17, 2017

Meet Kelly Duggan from the Class of 2013. Kelly was a Growth and Structure of Cities and is now an Adoptions Coordinator at Adopt-A-Dog, Inc. She places dogs in homes and spends an inordinate amount of time doing dog photo shoots… Sounds like a lovely day to us! Learn more about Kelly in her own words:

I got here by deciding to apply to a random Internet posting.

My mentor, also known as my father, taught me that you’re never going to know exactly what you want to do, so you might as well do something that makes you happy.

I dream of someday owning and operating my own animal sanctuary and rehabilitation center for dogs that might otherwise not find a home.

In my spare time, I am usually still with our resident dogs at the shelter.

I wish I had more time to read. I have so many books on my “to be read” list that it’s formed separate sub-lists.

What I love most about NYC are the amount of different food options in each neighborhood

My time at Bryn Mawr taught me how to be confident and self-assured and the power of female friendship.

My advice to the Class of 2021 is, “Don’t worry if your customs group doesn’t become your best friends. Everyone is just as nervous as you are, they might just be hiding it better. You will find lasting friendships at Bryn Mawr, and those will be your lifelong friends.”

My advice to the Class of 2017 is, “Don’t worry about where you land post-graduation. There is no right place or way to be and sometimes you will have to take the job that’s just “a job” in order to get one step closer to your goals.”
